Buying a flat or house question:

I previously owned a property with an ex partner and we split up in 2006. I engaged a solicitor to arrange the transfer of equity and all was agreed amicably - the paperwork sigend and issued to Land Registry. I then got a mortgage in my sole name and have since remortgaged without any issue. I'm looking to remortgage again to take advantage of the current low rates and the new lenders solicitor has noticed an anomoly on the deeds. The leasehold title is in my sole name but the freehold that comes with it still has the joint names on (the property is a maisonette so the top property owns the freehold for the ground floor and vice versa making the equivalent of a shared freehold i guess). the new lender say the cannot progress until the deeds are corrected. I've looked through all of the paperwork from the time and all of the letters refer to transfer of full ownership of the property into my sole name (so the intent is quite clear). However the final TR1 form that was submitted to Land Registry only references the leasehold deed reference. The deeds do cross refer to each other and so as far as i'm aware it shouldn't be possible for them to end up in different names. I want to know how to go about correcting this? I've tried to contact my solicitor from the time but unfortunately they have gone into liquidation - I doubt the liquidators would care too much about my case. Is not too much of an issue immediately as I can simply put off the re-mortgage for a while but I need to resolve it as could cause issues when I come to sell. How best should I approach sorting this out?
