Employment question:

I have been working weekends 24 hours per week in a Company since 2008 on my contract says that my Holiday Entitlement is 8 days per year and this are the days I have been getting but I have been informed that from 1 April 2009 all workers are entitled to 5.6 weeks per year.On the 18/3/13 I sent a letter to my employer asking for a review of my Holiday Entitlement based on what the law says and also to backdate the difference to 2009 , so far no reply .What steps should I take next ? Thank you

It would be better for you to lodge a formal grievance and then take it further for breach of the WTR and failing to allow you to exercise your entitlement to your leave and actually failing to give you the full entitlement. The entitlement is 5.6 weeks which is 28 days per annum. This is for full time workers and is pro rata for part time employees.
