Medical claims question:

My daughter was eventually (after much hassling from me) diagnosed with a sub mucous cleft palate at the age of 8 months, the first op went wrong and we asked to be re-referred to GOSH for future treatments. During this time she received numerous tests and operations together with 'talking xRays' at birth the heel prick test showed no abnormalities in thyroid at the age of 12 she was diagnosed with Thyroid problems and has had continual problems on medication i.e it not working and her getting ill again. After all this time and now a great deal more research it appears Thyroid problems are common in children that have undergone the pharyngoplasty yet I never put it together until now! The radiation from all those x-rays are what have caused all her problems with her thyroid because they do not cover the thyroid when x-raying! Is there anything we can do now after all this time even if only to prevent other children and their parents from going through all this worry and stress! Last week we were told her TSH levels were up at 565 they should be maximum of 5! She constantly suffers ill health tiredness and migraines now they still have not got it under control and she has just turned 20! If I hadn't of rung the consultant last week I doubt he would have made time to see her as they cannot fathom why she doesn't 'look like' a severe hypothyroid case! Now they have increased the dose almost double and she has to wait 6 weeks till the next blood test in the meantime if this doesn't work we have to hope she doesn't fall into a coma! Is there anything we can do?
