Family and relationships question:
my partner needs to start divorce proceeding unfortunatly his wife wont settle reasonably he his self employed he pays three quarters of the mortgage on the house she is living in he says she can have the house what would be a reasonable outcome if it went to court he has two older children over 30 his wife is on sickness benefit

That's a very big question but unfortunately you haven't given enough information for any solicitor to be able to answere it. Your partner should make an appointment to see a solicitor for an initial consultation. He will get a good idea of what sort of settlement his wife can expect and how much it will all cost. Matrimonial law is complicated and there is no substitute for proper advice. This kind of question simply cannot be answered in a forum like this because the answere depends on lots of different factors.
